Select Quality Care
In accordance with the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) newly developed standards, the Health Plan has partnered with Select Quality Care Consumer, a division of WebMD, to provide employers and members with a Web-based tool that enables them to objectively evaluate hospital treatment data by weighting what is most important to them.
This tool will allow members to compare hospitals’ treatment outcomes by specific condition. Number of patients treated, mortality rates, complications and length of hospitalization are among the statistics members can view. Treatments or conditions rated include cancer procedures, heart care, pediatric procedures, transplants and others.
Prior to announcing this tool to members and employers, we are asking our participating hospitals to preview the hospital comparison tool. Click here to access the hospital data. You will need the following username and password: Geisinger Demo/quality (case sensitive). This username and password are temporary. At a later date you will be able to view this tool on our Web site using your Health Plan username and password.
