David J. Weader, J.D., M.H.A.

Vice President, Legal Services, Chief Compliance Officer

David J. Weader is vice president, legal services and chief compliance officer for Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company, and Geisinger Quality Options, Incorporated. Weader is responsible for providing legal support to senior management and for maintaining the compliance program.

Weader started his career as an associate at a leading Pennsylvania-based law firm, McNees, Wallace & Nurick LLC, and at a national health law firm, Epstein Becker & Green, PC, providing regulatory and transactional counsel to health care providers and managed care companies. After leaving private practice, Weader worked as Associate General Counsel for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Prior to joining Geisinger, Weader was a plan attorney for Coventry Health Care, a national managed care company.

Weader received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, his graduate degree in health care management from Ohio State University, and his law degree from the Boston University School of Law.
