George Schneider, CPA

George Schneider

Chief Financial Officer

George Schneider is chief financial officer for Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company, and Geisinger Quality Options, Incorporated. He is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, expense benchmarking and management. He serves as liaison between finance and all departments in the Health Plan.

Schneider joined the Health Plan in 2010. He most recently served as the chief financial officer for Mercy Health Plans in St. Louis, MO. In that role, he was responsible for accounting, billing and collections, forecasting and budgeting, underwriting, informatics, actuarial services, provider contracting, and network management. Prior to Mercy Health Plans, Schneider held executive positions at Medimetrix, a health-care strategy consulting firm, and several health plans including American Medical Plans, OSF Health Plans, AIG’s managed care division, Group Health Plan of Missouri, Physicians Health Services of Connecticut and Health America. Schneider also held financial roles in the hospital industry and served as a Medicare auditor with Indiana Blue Cross.

Schneider obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He also holds a CPA certification.
