Geisinger Health Plan® - Senior Executive Biography - Morucci
Michael Morucci has served as vice president of sales and marketing since July 1999. He oversees a staff of approximately 85 employees from the Plan's sales and telemarketing operations. Morucci had been the health plan's director of sales since 1994, leading a staff that has broken numerous sales and membership records. He also played a key role in the development of the Plan's telemarketing operation, broker sales program and sales automation system. Morucci began his career at GHP as a sales representative and was promoted to regional manager in the 1980s. During this time he was instrumental in developing a national account client base and devising the Plan's sales strategies used widely in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Morucci graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in social sciences. He has also attended the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Management. A record-setting member of the Bloomsburg University football team, he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League and later voted into Bloomsburg's Athletic Hall of Fame.
