GHP names new Regional Sales Manager


DANVILLE, PA – Steve L. Babcock, Jr., of Jersey Shore, Pa., has been named regional sales manager for Geisinger Health Plan. His sales area encompasses 23 counties including Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union. Babcock brings more than 15 years experience in health-care sales.

Prior to joining GHP, Babcock was a senior account executive for HealthAmerica. During his tenure at HealthAmerica, Babcock was named the Mid-Market Account Executive of the Year four times, achieved the HealthAmerica President’s Council 10 times for outstanding performance and earned Coventry Health Care President’s Council seven times for outstanding performance.

Steve received his bachelor of science degree in fitness management from Lock Haven University and his master of science in sport management from the University of Massachusetts. He worked in sports medicine for five years before moving into insurance sales.

An active member of the community, Babcock serves on Lock Haven University’s Alumni Association Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for Oval United Methodist Church. He is a member of the Clinton Country Club and a 1999 graduate of Leadership Lycoming.
