Geisinger Gold releases 2010 Bradford county Medicare options

DANVILLE, PA –Medicare beneficiaries in Bradford County have the choice of two Medicare Advantage plans offered through Geisinger Gold, both with a $0 premium.

Medicare beneficiaries in Bradford County have the option of a Medicare Advantage private fee-for-service and a Medical Savings Account (MSA) plan offered through Geisinger Gold.

"Geisinger Gold has a rich heritage founded on providing quality health care," says Dudley Gerow, GHP's vice president, Medicare. "We are happy to provide Bradford County residents with several affordable options for medical coverage."

Prescription drug coverage is available for an additional premium. A stand-alone prescription drug plan is also available.

These options will be available to qualified Medicare beneficiaries during Medicare's annual election period, November 15, 2009-December 31, 2009.

Begun in 1985, Geisinger Health Plan is a not-for-profit organization. The Health Plan has offered Geisinger Gold since 1994. Currently, approximately 38,000 Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in the Health Plan's Medicare programs. Geisinger Gold offers Pennsylvania residents a variety of Medicare Advantage plans, including HMO, PPO, private-fee-for-service, medical savings accounts and special needs plans. Gold plans include hospital coverage, doctor visits, preventive care and hearing aid coverage. Geisinger Gold also offers prescription drug coverage.
