GHP expands contract with Mount Nittany Medical Center
All Geisinger Gold plans will be accepted
DANVILLE, PA Mount Nittany Medical Center and Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) have renewed their contract for health insurance participation for Geisinger Health Plan members. Mount Nittany Medical Center will accept Geisinger Gold regardless of which plan the member has. This expanded relationship demonstrates a commitment by both organizations to offer residents of Centre and surrounding counties affordable health care and access to local physicians and hospitals.
The new terms for the multiyear contract went into effect September 1.
Dudley Gerow, GHP's vice president, Health Plans, Medicare says, "We are happy that Mount Nittany Medical Center will now offer their services to all of our Geisinger Gold members. This new contract will allow our members to receive services close to home. In addition, Medicare beneficiaries in Centre County will have more plan options available to them in 2009.' Medicare beneficiaries are eligible to enroll in Geisinger Gold beginning November 2008 for an effective date of January 1, 2009.
