Local residents will have an even greater choice of plans
DANVILLE, PA Residents of Adams County have a new choice in health care coverage. Geisinger Health Plan, a Pennsylvania-based, not-for-profit health insurer, has received state approval to sell their HMO and PPO plans for individuals, families and employers in Adams County.
“This expansion of our service area gives local businesses another choice in health care coverage,” says Michael Morucci, the Health Plan’s vice president of sales and marketing. “In this era of rapidly rising health insurance costs, having options is important to residents as well as businesses.”
The Health Plan’s local provider network includes Gettysburg Hospital, a Wellspan Health hospital, more than 49 PCPs and 133 specialists.
Begun in 1985, Geisinger Health Plan is one of the nation’s largest rural HMOs and serves more than 208,000 members in 42 counties throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania. Geisinger Health Plan has held the highest accreditation level from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) since 1993.
