The Health Plan has recently upgraded its security to better protect your personal health information as directed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed information security guidance. It appears that your browser does not support this enhanced security. Without this capability you are unable to login to the secured section of www.thehealthplan.com.

This change was required by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act passed as part of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. TLS helps guard your protected health information by using strong cryptographic methods to prevent eavesdropping, tampering and forgery.
The online provider formulary gives providers several ways to search for information on medications that are currently included in the formulary.
You can view a listing of drugs as they appear in the Therapeutic Category or Therapeutic Sub-Category by selecting a category listed in either of the two drop-down menus. A listing of all covered brand and generic drugs in that category will appear.
To determine if a specific drug is included in the formulary, type the brand or generic drug name into the applicable name box. Be sure to verify the spelling of the drug as you may not obtain a match on drugs spelled incorrectly.
We offer two prescription drug benefits: the “Traditional” prescription benefit and the “Triple Choice” benefit. Exclusions may differ based on the benefit chosen and are delineated in the member’s prescription drug rider. The same quantity limits apply to both benefits.
Please note: The Therapeutic Category and the Therapeutic Sub-Category listings are in accordance with the listings that appear in your Geisinger Health Plan Provider Formulary.
Certain prescription drugs listed in this formulary may not be covered for all members. A member’s prescription drug benefits are dependent upon the coverage selected by the member or the member’s employer. For information about a member’s specific prescription drug benefits, please contact the Pharmacy Service Team at 1-800-988-4861 or (570) 271-5673.
