Contingency Statement For Providers
Geisinger Health Plan wishes to inform participating providers as well as other trading partners of our contingency plan regarding the electronic transaction and code sets provision of the law.
Our contingency plan is to continue to accept transactions in legacy format–in addition to HIPAA compliant formats while we, as well as our trading partners, work through issues relating to implementing the HIPAA standards. This will, for a time, impact our ability to issue the electronic remittance transaction. The Health Plan will continue its active outreach and testing efforts and will assist its trading partner community in complying with HIPAA standards.
